Check-in & Operations Weigh truck first upon entry—critical step. Get assigned a door after scaling. Appointments exist but communication spotty; expect wait times ranging 30 minutes to 3+ hours. Staff will call or knock on window when door opens. Multiple entrances—hopper traffic uses 1st entrance/scale; dry vans and reefers use 3rd entrance with separate scale. Shipping & Receiving is 5th entrance on right after turning onto Taylor from Wright. Scale again before leaving to get paperwork. Load Times Highly variable. Best case: 30-45 minutes door-to-door. Common case: 1-1.5 hours. Worst case: 3-7 hours. Depends on volume and dock availability. Rice hulls loads typically 41k-48k (leans toward 41k), rarely hit 50k capacity. Facility Layout Small lot with tight maneuvering. Congested traffic—forklifts, lot jockeys, walking employees. Scale pull-in can be tight and requires careful execution. Narrow loading tunnel between box trailers. Exiting/turnaround challenging for some drivers. Not intuitive for first-timers but organized once you know the flow. Trailer Requirements Must be clean and neat—facility rejects dirty/damaged trailers without explanation. Reefers should be precooled correctly per preplan specs or expect delays. No light leaks allowed. Facility Experience Staff generally friendly and helpful. No overnight parking. Open 24 hours for loading. Pavement in good condition. Some reports of poor communication and disorganization during peak times. Unloading can be quicker than loading. Other Notes Facility blocks public rail crossing during peak hours—coordination issue. Will weigh out after loading.
