Kohler Co. - Wilmer

Facility info

OPERATIONS Drop and hook facility — primarily fast turnarounds on loaded drops and empty pickups. Live loads available but slower. Appointments recommended, though some report 24-hour access (except 6-7am shift changes when gate closes). Check-in at security gate requires license and paperwork; paperwork verified at shipping office before or after loading. Dock assignment given at office. Load times reported 20 minutes to 2 hours depending on volume and whether live or drop-and-hook. GPS/ACCESS Truck GPS often routes to prohibited roads. Search "NFI" or use coordinates N 27°47.0651' W 099°27.2326'. Approach via frontage road from I-45 exit 269 (from southbound, exit at 269 and turn right under overpass). Single three-lane curved entrance ending at security gate. Same gate for entry and exit. FACILITY EXPERIENCE No overnight parking for OTR. Restrooms reported very clean. Yard spacious and well-maintained. Staff generally bilingual (Spanish/English), attitude mixed — some describe friendly and efficient service; others report rude or dismissive gate personnel. Several gate delays reported (10 minutes to 2 hours) with inconsistent experiences. Shipping office efficient when staffing adequate. One report of incorrect weight documentation (bills showed 33,400 lbs but scale verified 41,000 lbs). STAFFING CONCERNS Multiple reviews note guard gate bottlenecks with multiple trucks waiting. Some reports of supervisory staff not engaged or making paperwork processes unnecessarily cumbersome (self check-in/out situations).
