U.S. Cold (Lumberton)

Facility info

Wait times highly unpredictable — ranges from under 1 hour to 8+ hours. Many reports of 4-6 hour waits between check-in and dock assignment or start of loading, even for on-time arrivals. Luck of the draw. Appointment scheduling not reliable — showing up on time doesn't guarantee timely service. Some drivers report getting doors quickly for appointments; others wait hours past their scheduled time. Live load operation — dock assignment first, then staging while waiting to load. Staging area available outside gate. Check-in at door 12 — opens at 7:30 AM sharp, closes at 5 PM. They take 10+ minutes per transaction. Plan accordingly for early arrivals. Loading/unloading speed varies wildly — can be 20 minutes or 5+ hours once work starts. Once you get a door, actual loading is typically quick. Mexico loads require USDA documentation — adds time before you can leave. Staff attitude mixed — office staff sometimes unfriendly or dismissive; dock workers generally described as nice and professional. Overnight parking available outside the gate — adequate space, grass area for pets. Bathrooms available — reported as clean; located in facility (access limited to 7:30 AM–5 PM operating hours). Free coffee in waiting room. Yard conditions decent — staging area, good maneuvering room. Some note odors near receiving dock (chicken facility). Delivery appointments generally faster than pickups — several reports of quick in-and-out for deliveries versus longer waits for loading.
