Facility info
Operations Kiosk check-in required (phone number + PO); then speak with person in small office/guard shack for door assignment. Download Albertsons driver check-in app option available. Will not accept early arrivals — must be within 15 minutes of appointment time or turned away. Unloading times wildly inconsistent: reports range 1.5–8+ hours for same load sizes; "hit or miss" is the theme. Lumper service (TW Services) mandatory and expensive ($175–$480+ for small loads); must pay before paperwork release. Paperwork delays severe — expect 1–3+ hours waiting for BOL/paperwork even after unload complete. Facility Experience Overnight dirt lot parking available across from entrance; muddy and potholed when wet. Bathrooms: port-a-johns at dock, actual restroom at guard shack (request key). Staff attitude mixed — some helpful/pleasant; multiple reports of gate/receiving staff rudeness and unprofessionalism. Dock conditions tight in some doors (11–18); low lighting under awning. Staging area off-site on dirt road, poorly maintained. Logistics Correct address: 3435 E Rowan Ave (not 5707 N Freya). Truck entrance on Rowan; avoid lane 1 (Safeway trucks only). One-way yard circulation after gate entry; right turns required. Warning: Reports of load securement equipment (straps, load locks) disappearing from trailers.
Driver reviews
They didn't respect drivers time. They took almost 6 hours to unload a half trailer causing me to go over on my hours of service. Safeway is a dying brand. Walmart, WinCo and other non union places are taking over.
Have you're ducks in a row when you deliver here. Very organized. Being ready when you arrive will speed things up alot.
Drivers who backing into the dock does please be careful! Watch out the pole do not hit it because this pole’s at notorious. Dor line is so narrow and plus the pole is huge and if you don’t pay attention you will sure hit your trailer for and break it. Pull far forward and have both side visible to back in to dor.If you damage or break your dor there is utility trailer dealer west of you on i90.
Very slow and lumpers kept lying telling me that they were waiting for Safeway to finish the paperwork, which I know was a lie because I could feel them moving pallets still out of my trailer. Took them almost 5 hours to get me my paperwork back screwed up my whole pick up the next day.! I keep waiting for them to fix the amount of time they take but nope somehow they get slower and keep charging more and more!!!
