Facility info
WAIT TIMES: Highly variable and often lengthy — 1-2 hours common for drop-and-hook, but 5-8+ hours typical for live loads. Some drivers report 15-20+ hour waits. Load readiness depends on production schedules (product made fresh to order). Drop and hook available — facility focuses on this model. Trailer dropped in yard, you park bobtail and wait for pickup notification. Quick check-in at gate. Live load unpredictable — staff load as product is manufactured. Preload times given are frequently missed. Facility staff may not proactively notify you when load is ready — check status with guard shack regularly. No overnight bobtail parking or very limited — lot is small and tight. Some spaces occasionally available but not guaranteed. No overnight truck parking for through drivers. Bathroom access critical gap — No driver restrooms or porta-potties on site. Facility directs drivers to nearby gas station. Multiple complaints about this. Yard is cramped — Limited maneuvering space. Blind-side backing issues noted. Tight lot requires careful positioning when dropping trailers. Staff demeanor mixed — Gate guards generally friendly and professional. One incident reported of rear gate staff being rude and inflexible about exit routing. Shipping office staff vary. Security sleep incident reported — At least one driver found guard sleeping during check-in. Trailer damage possible — One driver reported scratches to trailer during storage. Plant smell — Poultry processing facility has strong odor that carries for miles. Appointment scheduling exists but doesn't guarantee timely loading. Arrive early drop strategy often works better.
Driver reviews
We eat chicken made from Tyson and it’s the best thank you guys for making such good chicken
Reviews worried me lol however
I arrived at 730am for a 430pm appt

Got loaded and paperwork in hand and in my way in under 2 hours
They suck, drop trailer, slow loading FCFS, the only good thing is bobtail parking
Guard at the guardshack was very pleasant I would give him 5 stars but Tyson as a whole with the experience I just had- I picked up 16 containers of ground up chicken- two containers failed by the time I made it to the shipper only 750 miles away. I was lucky to find a washout that would take me- I also lost 6 straps for the cause. still 3hrs 10 minutes to clean out the mess- and that’s with me putting on boots and gloves and getting in there shoveling out the chicken goop as well. $470.00 for my washout.
Friendly security guards. First gate entrance after you turn left from Huntsville, small lot. Save yourself from some traffic and use exit 73 east
