Operator: Costco
Facility info
Strict on appointment times—show up late and they'll reschedule you. Early arrivals (30–60 min) often get immediate door assignments. Pager system: you'll get a beeper at check-in, it assigns your dock door, then beeps again when dock is ready. Don't trust it blindly—watch the door yourself in case other trucks are slow to pull out. Unload times: typically 1–2 hours, sometimes faster. A few reports of 2+ hours, especially with Mondelez loads. One location (Monroe, NJ) noted as significantly slower than other Costco DCs. No overnight parking on premises anymore. Lot opens 2–4 AM for early appointments. Shoulder parking on Costco Drive advertises $250 fines; police actively ticketing. Many drivers park there anyway and risk it. Facility opens 3:30–4 AM for check-in. Can stage trucks starting 2 AM if lot access is available. Keep your paperwork with you the whole time—don't turn it in until you exit. Get it stamped at the guard shack on your way out. Porta potties available but poorly maintained (no water, no TP reported). Service station (Love's, Petro) 10+ minutes away; Petro charges $28 for parking. Check-in is quick and organized. Yard is spacious and easy to maneuver. Get bolt cutters from guard shack if you have steel seals.
Driver reviews
NO overnight parking, 100%. $250 fine signs at the driveway. One parks there at a high risk, trucks pass by like 30mph, it's like sleeping on a ramp. They have a staging area that opens at 2am, you won't get decent sleep there, but a good chance of an early dock around 4-5am. Good luck
The NJ area is not truck "friendly". Finding a safe place to park overnight can be impossible due to the large number of trucks. It is my opinion that if a person is here to serve the purpose of a business, that business should accommodate that person or at least that trailer with a safe haven. If you don't want to keep the person at least allow the trailer to be dropped so the person can have more options for a safe place to sleep. Having people sleep on the side of the road is diabolical when you have a huge lot with plenty of space to at least keep the trailer. I am a company driver and I don't pick the load, the time, none of it. Believe me, I am mad about this not only from the side of Costco but the company I drive for because neither side gives 2 💩💩 about me, my safety and well being, only the profit from the cargo in the trailer attached to this truck. That is why I think it would be proper for Costco to take this trailer and allow me to find a safe place, I am here, in this situation hauling freight you require, that you ordered. This industry needs to remember that the driver is a person. We are people who don't have a safe bed to go to when we clock out. So when you put on the street, you put us in danger and we aren't getting good rest which is another issue as well. This is very disappointing to say the least. Do better
Only appointment don't come early no help nothing
