Smuckers Lacombe Distribution Center
LA-434, Lacombe, LA 70445
Facility info
Appointment required — arrive on time, not early; showing up 15+ minutes early gets you sent away Live loads brutal — expect 6–19 hours; drop and hook generally 2–3 hours when load is actually ready Check-in at security gate — can take 30 minutes to an hour; have hard copy license and clean trailer ready No overnight parking — facility surrounded by lakes, limited space; TA/Pilot in Slidell or I-59 nearby for waiting Bathrooms and driver lounge available — though quality/cleanliness varies by review Staff attitude inconsistent — some gate staff reported as rude or unhelpful; some spotters/loaders praised as professional and helpful Drop and hook loads frequently delayed — multiple reports of loads marked "ready" but not actually prepared; can add 24+ hours to stated timeline Live loads commonly behind schedule — yard communication poor; drivers report not being notified when load finishes, left to chase down release themselves Yard procedures — slide tandems at welcome center before entering; exit left around building back to guard shack; tight maneuvering space for trailer drops
Driver reviews
The process is very slow. Loading takes more than 6 hours to complete
DHL run warehouse for Folger’s and other Smucker’s owned coffee brands. Decent size yard, check in process takes awhile, self check in from QR code on sign before gate but often the drivers ahead of you skip that part and tie things up, loads are seldom ready early. No parking on site, new Loves 7 miles away at exit 68.
Fast and profesional people. Check it at security quiosk. Text message with door. Clean and big place to back up. Restroom and vending machine at door 149. Here not have problem with appointment time.
