Facility info
Live load operation — majority report quick turnarounds (15 min to 1 hour), but significant variability exists Staffing is the main constraint — multiple reviews cite only one person handling loading/unloading across all trucks, creating bottlenecks during busy periods and evening/night shifts Wait times range widely — fast experiences: 12-58 minutes. Slow experiences: 5-8+ hours, particularly on graveyard shifts or when understaffed No overnight parking allowed on site Security and staff demeanor consistently praised — friendly, helpful, good communication Early arrivals generally accommodated — facility willing to dock drivers before appointment times Facility condition — clean bathrooms, well-maintained yard, clearly labeled truck entrance On-site scales available — one report of inaccurate scale readings; driver should verify weights independently Check-in procedure — bring driver's license, provide pickup number to guard shack Receiving closed 11:30 am-12:30 pm for lunch Drop and hook available — faster option than live loads Load quality concerns — one report of poor weight distribution (too much on tail end) Schedule flexibility exists — facility has loaded drivers significantly ahead of appointment times Third-party contractor operation — not direct Kraft facility; affects staffing and capacity

The best Kraft receiver I've ever been to in 11 years—20 minutes in and out!

Fast unloading
Extremely frustrating experience at Kraft Heinz – Mason City. This facility has a serious issue with loading trucks overweight, and it seems to be a repeated problem. My CAT scale ticket showed me at 80,500 lbs gross, forcing me to waste time, fuel, and lose valuable driving hours fixing their bad load.

What makes it worse is the nearest scale is all the way in Albert Lea, MN, so by the time you find out you’re overweight, you’ve already burned time and money. This was with only half a tank of fuel — imagine if the tanks were full.

To make matters worse, they used to have a scale on-site but discontinued it just to save on maintenance costs, leaving drivers to deal with the consequences.

My advice to drivers: avoid picking up here if possible. If you have no choice, scale immediately and keep your tanks full before scaling so they can rework the load according to the actual scale ticket. Facilities like this need to take responsibility for proper weight distribution and stop wasting drivers’ time and money.
They will definitely overload you.
Closest scale is: 3205 Willow Creek Ct, Clear Lake, IA 50428,
15 minutes away.
My gross was over 80,000lbs.
Had to come back again.
Quick loading though
