OPERATIONS Appointment scheduling required. Live load facility. Check in via phone call — keep trying if no one answers immediately. Arrive at/after 7am — gates closed before that, no waiting area. Have load number and destination ready. Bring clean, dry trailer or get sent off-premises to wash. Drop trailers get priority over live loads. Load times: wildly inconsistent. Range from 30 minutes to 6+ hours. Most commonly 2.5-4.5 hours. One-person check-in/loading operation during some shifts. FACILITY EXPERIENCE No overnight parking. No restroom access. Tight yard with limited truck waiting space — trucks park on surrounding streets. Yard can be dirty/unmaintained. Congested city location with difficult right turns to access (Royal Street/Preston Street corner recommended). Potholes and uneven pavement noted. STAFF & ATMOSPHERE Mixed bag. Some drivers report friendly, helpful people. Others describe rude, grumpy, dismissive staff who ignore questions and point to phone instead. Workers may ask personal questions unrelated to work. LOADING SPECIFICS Dry bulk flour loads. Overloading reported by multiple drivers — bring lube. Docks 7, 8, 9 preferred if available. Early arrival (7am opening) strongly recommended to avoid long queues. Can load moderately fast when staffed, but severely backed up most days. NAVIGATION Use GPS: 522 N. Royal Street. Avoid Railroad/Preston approach — very difficult right turn. Royal Street approach easier but still sharp turns. Multiple sharp turns unavoidable regardless of route.
