ACCESS ROUTES Trucks under 12'7": Can use Buchanan St or Broadway entrances, but most reviews advise against these streets Trucks 12'7" and taller: Must use N Clark Rd route — this is the only viable option Clark Rd route via Airport Rd or US 912 exit: involves water crossing (reported as 2ft deep, covered with debris/potholes). Proceed slowly and carefully Multiple railroad crossings on Clark Rd — trains can cause 1-2 hour delays; plan accordingly Road conditions poor overall — muddy, potholed, not maintained Check in 30 minutes before appointment No overnight parking CHECK-IN PROCEDURES Electronic check-in at scale house with computer system — be extremely careful with answers Wrong answer on security questions = automatic 24-hour facility ban Computer system may freeze during check-in; tap screen and select "continue" when error appears Must have steel-toe boots, long pants, safety vest, hard hat No passengers without CDL LOADING OPERATIONS Live load facility — typical load time 2 hours once process starts Wait times highly variable due to train interference and operator prioritization Forklift operators may load other trucks out of order regardless of check-in time Loading can be rough — equipment may be dropped forcefully onto trailer Some reports of selective service and favoritism among drivers FACILITY EXPERIENCE Muddy, poor overall conditions Minimal signage — difficult to navigate No sleeping on-site Food truck on-site (pulls out around 4pm, serves hot food) Poor cell service — difficult to reach facility by phone for directions Staff attitude mixed: Some described as helpful and efficient; others as rude, dismissive, or disrespectful Pass control staff specifically noted as unfriendly in multiple reviews TA truck stop with parking available on Burr St, Exit 6 GENERAL ASSESSMENT Difficult facility to navigate with significant operational challenges. Viable primarily for drivers with trucks 12'7" or under who use Clark Rd route and plan extra time for trains and poor road conditions. Staff performance inconsistent. Multiple complaints about attitude and service

The most disrespectful rude employees ever and the place is just not very suited for semis again I would never ever want to pick up here again and again the workers here seem miserable and they are so miserable they will take out their miserable lives on people just trying to do their job I have gone to many steel mills and this is by for the most disrespectful bunch of community driven steel workers I have ever met. I would love to write a letter to the USW and let them know about their attitude and maturity level as far as them bullying you to get out of the building as quick as possible even if there's no one behind you while you're trying to secure a steel coil that could harm the entire public while you're transporting it. I highly recommend not coming here Make sure you do take the right road otherwise you will be stuck there is a bridge that is very low but again the main problem is that these workers have the worst attitude I have ever seen and they take it out on other people

Little tricky first time going but the load process was quick. Check in 30 minutes before appointment. Paperwork will tell you where you need to go. Just follow the signs and you’ll arrive at your destination. If you’re not sure ask the scale house before you leave. Lots of space, easy access. To get there I arrived at the low bridge (12.7) access point. Was unsure at first but there was multiple trucks coming and going around me so I figured I could make it. Really should take them signs down or change them to 13.6 the minimum. It’s probably a little more than that but to be safe. Nice folks.
