Facility info
ENTRANCE: Use 702 North Mattis Ave. Enter from scale side. Guard directs you to correct building. Main gate at Light junction lacks clear signage — watch for traffic. APPOINTMENTS & CHECK-IN: Appointment scheduling required. Check in at office by door 52 (north). Can check in early — they may assign dock immediately or tell you to wait in yard. Check in lines reported 1+ hour at times. Bring PO# and seal# clearly marked with highlighter and driver's license. LIVE LOAD/UNLOAD: This is a live load/unload facility (not drop and hook). Receiving is 24/7 but shipping runs 0600–1445 only. DO NOT stay hooked to trailer during load/unload — causes backing issues for you and others. WAIT TIMES: Highly inconsistent. Reports range from 30 minutes to 18 hours. Morning shifts reportedly faster (often 1–2 hours). Second shift and weekends are slow. Afternoon loads take significantly longer. Some drivers experience 6–12+ hour waits on dock. Loading speed varies wildly; unloading occasionally faster. WEIGHT ISSUES: Verify load weight before departure. Facility has loaded trailers overweight (38k drive, 29k tandem). Multiple reports of weight discrepancies requiring rework. Get scale ticket and photo documentation. Facility sometimes refuses rework. OVERNIGHT PARKING: Available if you've run out of hours. Parking lots tight for backing — lots C and D available. DO NOT drop Kraft trailers in their parking area — spotters report drivers to security. BATHROOMS: Available but reported as filthy and poorly maintained in multiple reviews. SCALES: On-site. STAFF ATTITUDE: Mixed and shift-dependent. First shift generally friendly and efficient. Receiving/shipping office staff (door 52) frequently reported as rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. Speak fast and low volume through glass window. Supervisors sometimes unresponsive. Security/guard shack consistently praised as helpful and professional. FACILITY CONDITIONS: Yard conditions tight. Multiple Canada geese on property. Generally messy appearance. Some drivers describe it as prison-like. **DROP &

Hello I request to you pls don’t use plastic seals, use bolt seals after loading. Plastic seals are very very risky. We pick sauce Loads from you…. When we park trucks at truck stops for fuel or break then we have fear in mind about seal…

We have delivered to Kraft Heinz – Champaign three times, and every time we experienced the same issue. The unloading process takes extremely long, usually around 6 to 7 hours of waiting time before they start unloading the truck.

This causes major delays for drivers and affects the next scheduled loads. The facility needs to improve their appointment management and unloading process to reduce driver wait times.

Long wait times and slow unloading make this location very challenging for carriers.
